For commercial motor vehicle drivers, Care One of Florida offers the government-mandated Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration physical exam, commonly known as the DOT physical. These periodic examinations are design to monitor health conditions that could be caused or aggravated by the long periods of sitting and whole body vibration experienced while driving, and the bending, twisting and heavy lifting that may be required in related daily duties including performing mechanical repairs and loading or unloading.
Care One of Florida is an Approved Examination Provider
Although DOT physicals typically are offered at the worksite, many drivers prefer the comfort and privacy of a clinic setting. Care One of Florida performs DOT physicals and other occupational health services at their Spring Hill clinic on County Line Road , its Brooksville clinic on Cortez Blvd. Our urgent care medical clinics are designed with the patient's comfort in mind.
Not every medical clinic or healthcare provider can perform DOT physicals. Care One of Florida is an approved examination provider because of our well-documented, high patient satisfaction rates, attention detail and strong assessment skills. The DOT physical exam is highly regulated and has potentially serious consequences for the driver, so it must be thorough and accurate. The smallest detail could disqualify a driver from continued employment as a licensed CMV driver, adversely affecting his or her livelihood. But passing a driver who truly is no longer physically or medically able to safely operate a commercial motor vehicle could pose a threat to himself and to others on the road.
At Care One of Florida, we pride ourselves on being an approved provider of DOT physicals. Our line of occupational health services also includes Pre-Employment Physicals for companies of all types, Drug Screenings, immunizations, Workers'Compensation Care and OSHA-standard medical screening and surveillance.
